The Buddynetwork matches every exchange student with a regular WU student ("Buddy"). This Buddy will support his/her exchange student especially during the first days in Vienna, and very often it's the start for a long lasting friendship!
What does a Buddy do?

- pick you up at the airport or train station
- pick up your key at the dorm
- show you the way to your dorm
- help you getting started at uni
- show you around Vienna
- helps you with everything else...

Please make sure that you already have your arrival date when you register for a Buddy.
If you do not yet know the exact date, please do not forget to indicate it as soon as possible, because that is the most important thing for your Buddy.

If you use Facebook, you should join this group to get in touch with other students who will also spend a term as an exchange student at WU. We will also be announcing events through the facebook group.

First steps in Vienna and at WU
Check-in at the dorm - your buddy will help you
Registration with the local authorities (Meldezettel): you will have to register in Vienna within 3 days of your arrival - your buddy will help you
Registration at WU: you need you letter of acceptance, proper ID and your pre-immatriculation codes (you will receive them via email from the center for foreign studies at the WU in time): you will be equipped with your WU student ID - your buddy will help you
You will have to pay 15,36 EUR membership-fee for the students association in order to make your student ID valid
Together with your - now valid - student ID you can buy the semester ticket for the public transportation system in Vienna (very important), and also a reduced student ticket for the vacation months (if you arrive in February or September) - your buddy will help you
Drop by at our office and say hello and pick up latest information about everything important - all the parties!!!
